What’s Growing: Winter 2024

It’s winter here on the farm and that means not much is growing in the garden at the moment. The overwintered garlic, onions, and shallots have established their roots and are waiting till spring to resume their growth as are the perennial fruiting plants like blueberries, blackberries and strawberries. The trees surrounding the farm have gone dormant and will try to survive another winter. There is however two things growing healthily here.

The first is our list of projects for the new year. With the time afforded by winter’s rest, we have amassed a list of ideas for the farm, new plants to grow in the garden, and things to build in the high-tunnel. The second thing growing alongside this expanding list is our anticipation for our first full year dedicated to the farm. Last year we spent a significant amount of our time and effort turning the farm into our wedding venue, but this year we’ll be able to dedicate that time towards beginning our journey towards regenerating the land and establishing the farm as a business.
